Let 'Er Rip.

School
Today in my Yoga class one of the girls behind me kept farting. At first I was really grossed out, but I never caught a whiff of anything, so I guess instead of gross it was just awkward. She let out one really juicy one.

In other school news, the rest of the semester is going to be a cold, heartless bitch.

Here are my proposed schedules for Summer sessions and Fall 2008:

Summer Session 1:
M-F 9:45am-11:15am -- Beginning Aerobics
M-F 1:15pm-2:45pm -- Modern Latin America
M-F 3pm-4:30pm -- World Religions

Summer Session 2:
M-F 11:30am-1pm -- Europe Since WWI
M-F 1:15pm-2:45pm -- International Communication

Post-College Graduation
I'm in a pickle as to what to do after graduation. I know I don't want to move back in with my grandparents. I don't want to move back to Houston, because if I move back to Houston then I might as well live with the grandparents and not have to pay rent. Plus, I've lived in Houston my whole life aside from Waco and Madrid. I want to branch out, live life. And I don't want to leech off my grandparents either. I don't even know if they'd let me, but even if they would, I don't want to. I want to be self-sufficient, grown-up, college graduate Ashley. I need to save up all the money I'm making right now for the future as much as I can. I'm thinking maybe I can start looking for paid internships for after I graduate. Who knows where I might end up....

XOXO,
Ash

Out With a Bang.

School
When I first started at Baylor I was a Psychology major. At some point along the way, I added on International Studies. My belief was always that I would graduate in May 2010, and that I would be lucky to graduate December 2009 instead. But apparently I've done something right...because I only need 28 or 29 more hours...it seems that if I take summer school this year...I should graduate in December 2008. THIS DECEMBER. I'm still floating. At the same time, it's too good to be true, so I'm trying to not get my hopes up.

XOXO,
Ash

I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking, Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

Blog
I realized in the blog settings today that only people with Google and Blogger accounts could comment, so I changed it so that anyone/everyone can comment.

Music
Here is the tracklist of the aforementioned mix Jesse made me, complete with links to lyrics (I couldn't find lyrics to either of the Emma Wallace songs, but they're reeeaally sweet. And if you don't aww at the sweetness of this mix--except for the Pogues song--then something is wrong with you!):
  1. Dance Me to the End of Love - Madeleine Peyroux
  2. Come Into My Life - Jimmy Cliff
  3. Baby We've Got a Date (Rock It Baby) - Bob Marley & The Wailers
  4. Everybody Needs Somebody to Love - The Blues Brothers
  5. Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss - The Bloodhound Gang
  6. Pet (Helena's Lament) - Emma Wallace
  7. Turn Your Lights Down Low - Bob Marley & The Wailers
  8. Tell All the World About You - Ray Charles
  9. Oh! Look At Me Now - Frank Sinatra
  10. Knocks Me Off My Feet - Stevie Wonder
  11. Dreams - The Cranberries
  12. New Coat of Paint - Tom Waits
  13. Ain't No Sunshine - Horace Andy
  14. A Pair of Brown Eyes - The Pogues
  15. Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye
  16. High Tide Or Low Tide - Bob Marley
  17. Love Song - The Cure
  18. Stay With Me Tonight - Emma Wallace
  19. Rock With You - Michael Jackson
  20. Memories Are Made of This - Dean Martin
School
Right now I'm at work making my schedules for Summer and Fall. I didn't realize before today that I'm a senior by hours. My school progress site predicts my graduation date as Spring 2010, but looking at my degree audit, I think I should be able to graduate by Spring 2009 or August 2009, which would be AWESOME. Better not get my hopes up yet, though....

I Like Grape Jelly In My Peanut Butter Sandwiches.

Introduction
I decided to start keeping a blog again. I think it will be helpful to me to keep track of things and to be able to go back and review them.

Music
I used to not really "get" Bob Dylan much. He just didn't appeal to me, and I wasn't interested. But lately I'm kind of on a Bob Dylan kick. I bought a poster of him for my bedroom and a cd of his, and I think the whole falling for him thing started with just realizing there were a few songs of his I liked and exploring that.

In other music news, Jesse made me a fantastic mix. I don't physically own it yet, but I listened to it last night on his iPod while we were studying and just about every song made me smiley and giddy. I'll post the tracklist when I obtain it and you'll see yourself just how cute it is.

How I Am Losing My Mind
I had two tests today. After the first, before the second, I was frantically studying in the science building when I suddenly smelled kolaches. I immediately lost my focus for studying and just stared into space for awhile. It then dawned on me that I had forgotten to put away the turkey slices I had purchased the night before. I arrived home this afternoon, and sure enough--not only had I forgotten to put away the turkey slices, but I also had a whole box of melted ice cream sandwiches. That's my kolache story.

My Apartment
I love my apartment. I don't care that I have funky 70s style carpeting or a big honkin' old school microwave. I don't care that the light went out in my fridge. I don't care that I have ugly striped wallpaper in my kitchen or that I don't have a dishwasher (though I DEFINITELY would not MIND having one!). I've even gotten over the fact that I have to take really fast showers so the hot water won't run out. I don't have a roommate to worry about waking up at odd hours. I get to decorate. I don't have to worry about leaving a mess, etc. I love love love having my own place. My A/C seems to have stopped working...? For some reason. I definitely need to go mention that sometime, but that'll have to wait until I clean my place. Also, I know most of you haven't seen my apartment. As soon as it's clean and my new posters are up I will definitely post pictures. Of everything. Even the bathroom.

Skinny Girls
Lately I'm eating Special K for breakfast, drinking Slim Fast, and working out every day. We'll see how long I can keep that up and if it has any effect.

In Conclusion
The next post will hopefully be more interesting as I try to get myself back into the habit of blog writing. Blah blah blah blah blah. The end.

XOXO,
Ash
